Summary

The aim of the fund is to increase the capacity of local rural communities and business networks to build human capital, innovate and co-operate in order to tackle local development objectives. the strength of communities. There are six themes for investment within the Cairngorms Local Development Strategy. These are: Building community capacity; Growing the economy; Attracting and retaining young people; Improving transport, connectivity and services; Protecting and enhancing landscape and heritage; Providing excellence in tourism and recreation.

The Cairngorms Local Action Group (LAG) have nearly fully committed their allocation of funding for this programme and have a pipeline of applications that now exceeds the allocation for the area. Cairngorms LEADER 2014-2020 is now closed to new Expressions of Interest.

Expression of Interest forms are available from the Scottish Rural Network website (https://www.ruralnetwork.scot/funding/leader/expression-interest-form). However, it is strongly advised that you contact the LAG to discuss your project before submitting. The last date for new funding applications is 12 November 2018.
Exclusions
This fund is for the Cairngorms National Park area. Check the website for details.
