Summary

The trust makes available a limited number of discretionary grants for the repair of historic buildings in conservation areas. Additionally grants may be available for carrying out tree management works where a tree is recognised by designation to contribute to amenity.

For the Building and Shop Front grant, the Trust is directing its funding to projects located in the areas illustrated on the map that is on their website. Applications for repair projects relating to property outside these areas will not be considered except where the building appears on the Buildings at Risk Register, maintained by Historic Environment Scotland.

The Trust is looking to support external repair to buildings that are being brought back into use for housing or where businesses and jobs are sustained or shall be created as part of a wider project.

Community Heritage grants are available for buildings at risk, repair of community heritage and interpretation of community heritage.

Who can apply

The Trust will consider applications from not-for-profit organisations such as charities or trusts, community or voluntary groups, student groups, “friends of” groups, community councils, community interest companies and social enterprises. It may also be possible to support individuals who are carrying out research. This list is not exhaustive.
