Summary

The Foundation supports a wide range of charities both in the UK and abroad. The Trustees' primary areas of giving are:

  • the promotion of the evangelical Christian faith
  • education and youth development, focused particularly on STEM education and vocational training in traditional crafts
  • medical welfare and research, with a particular emphasis on dementia, stroke and neuro-degenerative diseases
  • performing arts with a focus on encouraging participation at grassroots level in order to identify talent as well as programmes supporting young professionals.
  • overseas development projects, with a special interest in projects benefiting women and girls with a geographical focus on Nepal and Bangladesh.

How to apply

The Laing Family Trusts are a group of four grant-making trusts (Beatrice Laing Trust, Kirby Laing Foundation, Maurice & Hilda Laing Charitable Trust and Martin Laing Foundation) sharing a single administration. An application to one is therefore considered as an application to all. Your your application will be directed to the most appropriate of the Trusts. Application is by letter, accompanied by a concise proposal (usually about 3 - 4 pages). Details of what should be included in this are on the funder website.
