The Trust's aim is community landownership of the Galson Estate and enterprise development of the same. All potential profits made from the following development options will be returned to the community in the form of the Trust's own grant scheme. The Trust currently has over 1,150 members from the local crofting community, and is exploring a range of income-generating ventures, e.g. sustainable energy, affordable housing and tourism.Trust activitiesWe are the landlords for the 56,000 acre estate, managing all estate business in-house, while also undertaking a large range of projects on behalf of the community. Our current projects range from renewables and energy efficiency projects to tourism and youth projects. We also provide funding for the community gained from the Wind Turbines at Ballantrushal through the Community Investment Fund.
