The principle activities of the fund are the provision of grants for the maintenance and repair of church buildings throughout Scotland with priority to churches in the west and south west of Scotland. Support is also given for new initiatives and projects in Christian Mission. It continues to make grants towards funding university fees particularly on post graduate courses which could assist candidates for the ministry, and grants are also made to Schools and Sunday Schools in Irvine to assist in purchase of books and equipment for imparting religious education.

Esh Communities accepts grant applications from any community group, charitable organisation or social enterprise which can demonstrate the aptitude and ability to make a real difference to their service users. The fund supports projects and initiatives that support the rural regeneration and sustainability of communities within the Ewe Hill Windfarm area and enhance the lives of those living and working in the area. The Youth Scotland Rural Action Fund is a Micro Grant fund being supported by The Robertson Trust and The Gannochy Trust. This fund has been created in response to the challenges which rural youth groups are facing in funding the delivery of community based universal youth work. It will make small awards to enable youth groups operating in rural communities to provide more and/or better youth work opportunities for young people.

ANCBC is funded by ScottishPower Renewables community benefit fund for Harestanes Windfarm in Dumfries and Galloway. The fund supports projects located within, or directly benefiting, one or more of 42 community council areas in Annandale and Nithsdale. ANCBC will support charitable activities that support the rural regeneration and sustainability of communities within the area of benefit. Awards can support a wide range of costs and activities including equipment, running costs for local groups, staff or sessional worker costs, consultations, maintenance or refurbishment of community facilities and capital costs to purchase or develop community assets.

Carsphairn Renewable Energy Fund administers community benefit funds awarded by renewable energy companies to Carsphairn Community. It helps finance projects that would benefit the community and to assist inhabitants of the parish to continue there learning through further education. Grants should benefit the social, religious and educational life of the community. Proposal to improve energy efficiency, energy management and innovative renewable and sustainable energy projects are encouraged.
